The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is organising a Community Radio Sammelan next week, with sessions that will deliberate on its use for good governance, including programmes such as Swacch Bharat and financial inclusion. The three-day workshop will bring together community radio operators, policy makers, ministries, UN and other international bodies, the Ministry said in a statement. The community radio sector has seen fast growth in the past decade. The Ministry has so far issued 409 permissions to set up such radio stations in the country. Out of this, 179 stations have become operational while others are in the pipeline.
