IFC has expressed its interest to work with the Andhra Pradesh Government in developing new capital near Vijayawada as a smart city.
At a meeting with delegates of International Finance Corporation, State Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu invited them to provide advisory services to the Government and in the areas of capacity building.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, IFC has come forward to finance and bring in private investors for roof-top solar and waster-water management.
Vivek Pathak, Director - Asia-Pacific, Isabel, Manager-PPP (IFC Delhi), Jeeva Perumalpillai Essex, Manager IFC Delhi, met the Chief Minister here on Wednesday.
Part of the World Bank Group, IFC lays focus on PPP-mode infrastructure projects. The Chief Minister sought their suggestions on redefining urban management and wanted them to engage themselves in 110 municipalities in the State.
