A 12-member delegation from Israel visited the Tirupur knitwear hub on March 12.
The delegation, led by Niv Morag, Marketing Coordinator, The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute met all the leading exporters, members of the Dyers Association of Tirupur and various other stakeholders of the knitwear industry.
The team, it is understood, was here on an invitation from the Apparel Export Promotion Council Chairman A Sakthivel.
Sakthivel had, during his visit in September last to Israel invited the experts for sharing their water technology techniques and also for exploring the possibility of joint ventures in re-use of water and reducing the processing costs.
The AEPC has, in a release stated that the Israeli stakeholders confirmed that there were possible avenues for cooperation, for streamlining the processing stages and reducing costs to meet
International Standards.
Members from both sides expressed the possibility of joint venture both with Common Effluent Treatment Projects as well as Individual Effluent Treatment Plants, the release said.
