A number of major players from hospitality sector have signed up with the Andhra Pradesh Government expressing their interest to set up projects in the State.
Those who have inked MoUs with the State Government and Tourism Department include Accor Group and Sea Valley Resorts with a hotel and proposed investment outlay of Rs 385 crore, ITC group with a proposal for a hotel (Rs 290 crore), Taj Group and GV Estates & Hotels Ltd (Rs 200 crore for a hotel), Essel Infra Project Ltd with an outlay of Rs 100 crore for an amusement park and resort, Sterling Resort (Rs 125 crore), GRT Hotels & Resorts, and Mahindra & Mahindra Enterprises (India) Ltd.
There have been proposals for amusement parks from Wonderla Holidays and North East Infra and Pragathi Green Meadows has come out with a proposal for a biodiversity theme park with an investment outlay of Rs 300 crore.
The Government has issued provisional certificates to nearly two dozen other proposals for star hotels, amusement and theme parks among others.
The State has come out with a tourism policy packing it with incentives.
