A 'prison bazaar' was today launched by the Tamil Nadu Government where products made by jail inmates like clothes and bakery products would be sold.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa launched the initiative, named 'Freedom,' at the Central Prison at suburban Puzhal through video conferencing.
She had earlier announced setting up prison bazaars at an investment of Rs 10 lakhs. These would sell clothes, bakery products, footwear, soaps and masala products among others, a Government release said.
This was first of the Prison Bazaars.
