Demanding a roll back on the hike in electricity bills, the opposition today accused the Jharkhand Government of taking a “duel policy, increasing power tariff soon after announcing a relief package to farmers”.
“The Government’s duel policy of ‘tariff and relief’ is deplorable...the Congress will stage demonstrations in all the district headquarters on August 6 in protest and demand immediate roll back,” PCC Chief and Rajya Sabha member, Pradeep Kumar Balmachu, said today.
The RJD’s State Chief, Girinath Singh, said, “It is just like giving by the right hand and taking back from the left.”
The leaders’ reactions come a day after the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) increased tariff by an average 16 per cent.
