The Jindal group has expressed its interest in taking up steel project in Telangana. The group is also keen on setting up a pipe manufacturing facility and take part in the State’s Rs 25,000-crore water grid project.
A delegation led by Jindal SAW Limited Chief Executive Officer Neeraj Kumar, Senior Vice-President Manish Kumar, Associate Vice-President Rajeeva Singh met the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and held discussions on investment opportunities in the new State.
“They offered to supply pipes to the massive drinking water project in the State. It also shows interest in setting up a pipes manufacturing facility to custom-make the pipes for the project,” a Government spokesperson said here on Thursday after the meeting.
“They wanted the Government to give an opportunity to set up a steel plant. The Chief Minister asked them to be ready to take up the project in case SAIL project doesn’t take off,” he said in a statement.
