Don’t be surprised if you happen to see an aircraft with the face of superstar Rajinikanth emblazoned on it. For the first time in the history of Indian cinema, an airline (AirAsia) has dedicated an aircraft to a movie.
To recognise the contribution of Rajnikanth to Indian cinema, low-cost carrier AirAsia has unveiled a rebranded aircraft, with livery dedicated to the much awaited movie Kabali starring Rajnikanth. AirAsia is the official airline partner for the movie.
The aircraft, emblazoned with the portrait of Kabali, the character Rajinikanth plays in the movie, will fly across AirAsia India network of destinations covering Bengaluru, New Delhi, Goa, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Vizag and Kochi, said a press release from AirAsia.
Kalaipuli S Thanu, proprietor of V Creations, producers of the movie, said in the release that it was the first time in the history of Indian cinema that an airline has dedicated an aircraft to a movie.
Special flight The excitement does not end here. The superstar’s fans can fly from Bengaluru to Chennai to watch the first show of the movie in a special flight on the day of release. Fans may call +91 80 41158492/8493 for details and booking.
AirAsia India has launched a social media contest for fans to post their Kabali style video on the official facebook.com/AirAsiaIndia and Twitter https://twitter.com/airasiain page.
Ten winners will get to watch the inaugural show of Kabali . Three other winners will have a chance to fly to locations where the movie was shot in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok, the release said.
