The Karnataka government has cleared Uber India’s ₹99-crore expansion plan. The cab aggregator’s expansion plan was approved by the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee chaired by Karnataka IT Minister SR Patil.
In addition to Uber, committee members which included V Manjula, Principal Secretary ITBT, and Tanusree Deb Barma, Director, ITBT, also cleared proposal of Reliance Communications Infrastructure Ltd, Aris Global Software and Srichid Technologies.
Uber proposalsUber had sought clearance for on-demand taxi aggregator regulations, ride-sharing pilot and regulations and concessions on water and electricity.
In its proposal to the government, Uber said it was expanding its rented facilities to establish and provide online transaction tools or applications, software development centres, digitalising the document, to design develop, manufacture in India for trading between clients as indenting agents or clients of associated indenting agents to provide marketing and consulting support for the development and expansion of on-demand services such as car booking services, via mobile devices and we based requests that pertain to the market in India.
The company currently employs three managerial staff (plans to add 10 more), 12 supervisors (190 to be added) and 20,000 skilled people (to increase it to one lakh)
Reliance plansReliance Communications Infrastructure had sought change of land use from Industrial main to IT industry and increase of FAR as per the prevailing norms.
The company bought the land assets from original allottee (India Photographic Company later which changed its name to Kodak).
Now the company has proposed to expand the data centre with existing facilities which is spread over 5 acres with an investment of ₹67 crore and employment generation of 800 people.
Aris Global Software, which plans to invest Rs 22 crore, has sought change of activities to enable it to obtain building plan approval for its expansion at Mysore Belagola Industrial Area.
Srichid Tech expansionSrichid Technologies, which has expertise financial domain and technology solutions, had sought clearance to expand its business operations in KPO for financial services, healthcare and IT services.
The company has sought 3 acre land at KIADB’ s IT park at Devanahalli.
