The Karnataka Government is keen to set up a Fab (chip fabrication unit) project in the State.
Addressing the Vision Summit organised by the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association, Karnataka Minister for IT-BT, Science and Technology, SR Patil, said that the State would press for a Fab project, a semiconductor and chip industry cluster in and around Bangalore.
Patil further said that the Union Government had sanctioned an electronics manufacturing cluster at Electronic City and two more such projects are coming at Mysore and Peenya at a cost of ₹85 crore.
