Kerala government today relaxed rules for getting jobs in government services under die-in-harness scheme, whereby eligible persons will be given jobs in suitable posts, taking the educational qualifications of the dependents.

“Eligible persons will be given jobs in suitable posts taking the educational qualification of the dependents. They were so far given appointments under the scheme for post of last grade and LDC or Assistant Grade, irrespective of their higher qualifications,” Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.

Due to demand for a change in the method of such postings, the cabinet entrusted the Chief Secretary to submit a plan to make necessary changes in service rules to provide suitable posts matching with the higher qualification of the dependent, he told reporters here after a cabinet meeting, which took a decision in this regard.

The new move would help the dependents join the juniormost post that suits their qualifications, he added.
