The Central leaderships of both the Sangh Parivar and the CPI(M) have taken their ongoing confrontation in Kerala to the Capital.
While RSS Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale demanded a judicial probe into the killings in Kerala, the CPI(M) Politburo said the State’s people will defeat the Sangh’s efforts to disrupt peace. MPs belonging to both the BJP and the CPI(M) camps have been sparring in Parliament on the issue.
“There should be a judicial inquiry by either a judge of High court or the Supreme Court in the murders of RSS workers in the State,” Hosabale told reporters on Friday. “Our workers are targeted as more common and poor people are joining the RSS which is not going well with the ruling CPI(M),” he added.
He said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley would visit the home of RSS worker Rajesh who was killed, allegedly by CPI(M) workers. “These are not just murders but political killings,” he said and added that since the LDF government came to power “violent politics has seen new heights”.
A CPI(M) statement said that after Home Minister Rajnath Singh had urged Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take adequate measures to stop the clashes, he had called a meeting of CPI(M) and BJP-RSS leaders on July 31 to discuss ways and means to ensure peace, a party release said. “The meeting took certain decisions and decided to hold similar meetings in three districts as a follow up. These meetings were also held...both sides have committed to see that conflicts are avoided and the police takes action.”
Maintaining that the BJP-RSS is not keen to see peace restored, it said since the formation of the LDF government, 13 CPI(M) workers and others were killed by the Sangh.
