Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) has initiated steps to forge a common platform for promoting ayurveda worldwide.
In this endeavour, the corporation conducted an interactive meeting here with leading ayurvedic manufacturing companies to develop ayurveda as a true complementary and alternative system of medicine across the world.
Speaking at the interactive meeting, M. Beena, Managing Director, KSIDC and Secretary AYUSH, said that there are certain factors that limit the use of ayurveda across the globe. This needs to be sorted out and equip this traditional system of medicine to suit the requirement of the modern world without losing its purity.
She pointed out that ayurveda offers lasting solutions to many of the ailments that affect the world in the context of increasing threats from many deadly diseases.
M.S.Valiathan, National Research Professor, Manipal University, requested the ayurveda fraternity to take measures for the preparation and propagation of evidential documents for the treatments carried out. He has agreed to be the chief mentor for the research activities that KSIDC proposes through this platform.
Valiathan also called upon ayurveda companies to rely on its inherent strengths in preparing protocols for treatments, rather than looking at other models.
Kim Sung Chol from WHO explained the global strategies and methods adopted in strengthening ayurveda and other traditional medicines.
