L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd today launched the Metro rail emblem and announced that it will induct local people to serve as its brand ambassadors.
Launching the emblem, the L&T metro team also indicated their keenness to promote use of bicycles to commute to the metro stations.
V.B. Gadgil, Chief Executive and Managing Director, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad), said, “Every citizen of Hyderabad will be excited with the launch of the emblem, which will symbolise the elevated rail network. The emblem made with three colours depicts different corridors.”
The project entails development of a network of 72 km of elevated metro rail project.
Hyderabad Metro has partnered with Atlanta Foundation for a flagship cycling event whose larger goal is to encourage people to use bicycles and thereby encourage sustainability. As a part of the initiative, it is proposed to develop a rail station that has facility to park bicycles near the IT hub.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is also in the process of laying special tracks for bicycles in parts of the city. These initiatives are expected to encourage people to ride on bicycles to metro stations.
The Metro rail plans to launch a brand ambassadors campaign conceptualised to select common man to become brand ambassador for metro project and thereby become a celebrity. Schools, colleges and representatives from corporate entities will be entitled to take part in the process to be announced. Gadgil said the metro project symbolises the common man therefore brand ambassadors will be chosen from the citizens. It is proposed to select about 8-10 ambassadors who will represent different sections and the project. Progressively, each metro rail line will be branded represented by red, blue and green colours. The Blue Ride will cover a stretch of 27.5 km from Shilparamam to Nagole, representing one line.
