The mood on the streets has already turned saffron as the NDA closes in towards the victory mark in the Lok Sabha elections.

At the BJP' Mumbai office, the celebrations have begun with the party workers eating and feeding laddoos to each other as they continue to chant "Har Har Modi" among all workers.

Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP state head, said, "It was Modi's capitainship that has led the team to victory. Most of all, it is the victory of the people."

According to Vinod Tawde, senior leader of Maharashtra BJP, said the Modi wave has turned into a tsunami. "We must keep this alive in the Assembly elections too,'' he said.

According to latest numbers, BJP-led NDA was leading with 299 seats and the Congress-led UPA set to lose with below 100 numbers at 75 seats.

In Maharashtra, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is leading on 31 positions out of 48 total seats.

Pramod Mahajan's daughter, Poonam Mahajan, is leading by 1 lakh votes against two-time Member of Parliament Priya Dutt, daughter of late Congress minister Sunit Dutt.
