Maharashtra cabinet today approved Rs 1,444 crore project for supply of water in the rural areas.
The project, called ‘Jalsurajya — 2’, will be implemented in cooperation with the World Bank, which will bear 70 per cent of the project cost.
Taxi permits
Meanwhile in another development, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has announced that the government has decided to allot 7,844 taxi permits, cancelled earlier, to the cab operators through bidding.
Of these, 100 permits will be reserved for women taxi drivers, an official said.
