West Bengal has secured investments to the tune of nearly ₹2,43,000 crore over the last two days, West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, said here on Thursday.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the two-day-long Bengal Global Business Summit, Banerjee said the summit was "immensely successful" and the amount of investments secured is expected to move up further in the coming days.
"I am speaking on the basis of the MoUs that we have signed so far. The amount of investments can move up further," she told reporters on the sidelines of the summit.
Investments are expected across all major sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and financial services.
Some of the major investments announced today include ₹15,000 crore from the Subhash Chandra-promoted Essel Group and a number of real estate and township development projects by the Mani Group, Hiland Group and Forum Projects.
Investment proposals worth ₹93,600 crore were received on Day 1, while investments proposals worth ₹150,000 crore were received today, sources said.
