West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said the UPA Government’s “wrong economic policy” led to a free fall of rupee against US dollar and the economic uncertainties.
Addressing the media at the State Secretariat, Banerjee said: “We are all frightened and concerned the way rupee is devalued. The price of everything is rising. The heat is felt by common people.”
The Trinamool supremo pointed out that the Union Government’s efforts to “forcefully approve certain policy reforms” have also resulted in such an economic condition.
She also blamed the UPA-led Union Government for depriving India in its effort to help certain countries.
“I think to pay attention to one or two particular countries and to satisfy them, India is being neglected,” she said.
“Fortunately, we are not with the UPA anymore. See their condition (now),” Banerjee added.
