West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo, Mamata Banerjee, is expected to kick-start her Assembly poll campaign from the city today, coinciding with International Women's Day.
The party will take out a rally from Shyambazar (in North Kolkata) to Esplanade (in Central Kolkata). Women candidates from North and South 24 Parganas as well as some senior MPs of the party, are expected to join the rally.
The rally is expected to throw city traffic off-gear during the afternoon hours.
