Mangalore developer plans 5-star hospitality project

The Mangalore-based Janata Construction Company will develop hospitality and residential projects on 3.35 acres in the city.

Addressing presspersons here, Ramesh Kumar, Managing Partner of the company, said that the five-star hospitality property of his company – Deepa Grandeur – will come up on 1.5 acres on M.G. Road in Mangalore. He claimed that the 25-floor property will be the first five-star hospitality project in Mangalore.

It will have exclusive restaurants for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, a specialty restaurant, and a lounge bar. Added to this, there will be a rooftop open sky restaurant and a lounge bar. There will be a business and gathering room, three conference rooms, a business centre, and three boardrooms.

Adjacent to this hospitality project, the company will take up the construction of Divya Deepa Heights, a commercial-cum-luxury apartment project. To be built upon on 1.83 acres on M.G. Road, this project will have 30 floors.

The price of the flats in this project starts from Rs 5,500 a sq ft. Ramesh Kumar said almost 65 per cent of the flats have already been sold.

To a query on the completion period for these projects, he said both these projects will be completed in 3.5-4 years period.

P. Jayarama Bhat, Managing Director of Karnataka Bank Ltd, will lay the foundation stone for Deepa Grandeur on November 29. Jagannath Shenoy, Managing Director of Mangalore Ganesh Beedi Works, will lay the foundation stone for Divya Deepa Heights on the occasion, he said.
