The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has granted the Service Quality Management Systems (SQMS) Certification IS 15700: 2005 for Customs Commissionerate in Mangaluru.
A press release by M Subramanyam, Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru, said here that it has been granted to the headquarters office at New Custom House at Panambur in Mangaluru and all other formations.
The other formations under the commissionerate include docks office (with passenger terminal and container freight station), old port, international airport, and air cargo complex in Mangaluru; customs division and custom house in Karwar; customs preventive unit in Malpe (includes customs special preventive unit in Kundapura); and customs preventive unit in Kumta (includes customs special preventive unit in Honnavar and Bhatkal).
The certification has been granted for three years up to November 13, 2020.
The release said that the standard requires the public sector organisation to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide effective and efficient service that meets customer requirements as well as relevant legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
