The Marriott Group, which runs 22 hotels across India, on Friday inaugurated its India’s first and world’s sixth coffee bar, Java+, here.

Currently, the hotel chain has five such 24x7 coffee bars across the world — two in China and one each in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Spain, Gaurav Singh, General Manager, Courtyard By Marriott, Ahmedabad, said. The concept would be extended to other Marriott properties as well.

The leading hotel chain currently has over 860 properties in 30 countries.

This year, the chain will open six more properties in India, including a second in Mumbai, and one each in Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Agra (UP) and Mussoorie (Uttarakhand). It also plans to open hotels in Rajkot and Vadodara in Gujarat.

Besides coffee, the bar will also serve other beverages, including varieties of tea, at competitive prices not exceeding Rs 250, he said.

To promote coffee and other beverages amongst youngsters, Java+ has been thrown open to two-wheeler riders who will be provided with an exclusive parking lot in the hotel premises.
