McDonald’s opens restaurant in Mangaluru

Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt Ltd, a master franchisee for West & South India operations of McDonald’s restaurants, and a subsidiary of Westlife Development Ltd, opened a McDonald’s restaurant at Forum Fiza Mall in Mangaluru on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the restaurant, Ranjith Paliath, Vice-President (Business Operations), McDonald’s India (West & South), said that one more restaurant of McDonald’s will be opened at City Centre Mall in the city soon. These launches add to the network of 74 restaurants across southern India, he said.

A statement released on the occasion said that the 128-seat restaurant at Forum Fiza Mall is spread over 3,500 sqft. The restaurant at City Centre Mall can seat up to 134 customers.

The restaurants will have a team of 50 employees each to manage operations in the initial phase, it said.

Hardcastle Restaurants, a McDonald’s franchisee with rights to own and operate McDonald’s restaurants in west and south Indian markets, operates 192 restaurants in 21 cities (as of September 30) in states such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and parts of Madhya Pradesh, it said.
