Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Milma) will remove the imprint “fresh and pure” from its milk sachets from November.
Milma took the decision to take the imprint off its packets following a Kerala High Court directive.
In an additional affidavit filed in the court on Wednesday, the company said dairies under it were keeping sufficient quantities of low density polyethylene film (LDPE) used for packaging milk. It kept the film stock for two to three months with all statutory printing.
The stock of film will be exhausted only by the end of October. Besides, the new design will have to be developed and new packing material sourced.
Therefore, introduction of new packets after removing the “fresh and pure” label will be possible only by October 31. Milma has sought time till then.
