The Modi-led Government has gone in for a major Secretary level reshuffle involving at least 16 Secretaries of various Ministries.
The changes span Secretaries of key ministries including Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, Chemicals and Fertilisers.
The major change in the Finance Ministry includes elevation of Revenue Secretary Shaktikanta Das as the new Economic Affairs Secretary.
Hasmukh Adhia, now Financial Services Secretary, has been appointed as Revenue Secretary.
Anjali Chib Duggal, Corporate Affairs Secretary, has been posted as the new Financial Services Secretary.
Tapan Ray, now Additional Secretary in Communications Ministry, has been appointed as Corporate Affairs Secretary.
J.S.Deepak, presently Additional Secretary in Commerce Ministry, has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Communications. He would take the place of Ram Sewak Sharma, who was recently appointed as TRAI Chairman.
Sunil Arora, Secretary for Skill Development, has been appointed as Secretary for Information & Broadcasting Ministry.
Rohit Nandan -- who was Chairman and Managing Director of Air India -- has been appointed as Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Secretary
The Centre has also appointed Raghav Chandra, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as the Chairman of National Highways Authority of India.
Pravir Kumar, Director General of Foreign Trade, has been appointed as Secretary at Interstate Council Secretariat.
Vinod Zutshi, Deputy Election Commissioner in Election Commission, has been appointed as Tourism Secretary.
