The ninth edition of Alva’s Pragati, a mass placement drive by the Moodbidri-based Alva’s Education Foundation, will be conducted at Moodbidri on June 24 and 25.
Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Saturday, Vivek Alva, Managing Trustee of the foundation, said that around 15,000 job aspirants from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to attend Alva’s Pragati this year.
The main objective of the drive is to facilitate job opportunities, especially in rural parts of the country. Graduates and postgraduates in various streams -- including medical, para-medical, engineering, management, basic sciences – and ITI and diploma holders can participate in the placement drive, he said.
Around 200 companies will look for suitable candidates, and 80 per cent of them would give final offer at the placement drive this year, he said.
The Foundation has created a mobile app for the job aspirants and to the companies. This will give real-time information to the candidates on the companies attending the placement drive with job profile for the specific qualification.
The free online registration for both the companies and the candidates can be done on the website of Alva’s Pragati, he said.
