The Congress is ready to consider any concrete proposal from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), according to the All-India Congress Committee General-Secretary Digvijaya Singh.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Press Club here on Friday, he said TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao had gone back on his promise of merging his party with the Congress after the creation of Telangana State.
The Congress, however, was prepared to go it on its own and would finish selection of candidates and other related processes in both the States by March 28. Congress would contest all the seats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
When asked about predictions being made for the Congress by many pre-poll surveys, he said pre-poll surveys could never be scientific in a country like India.
Referring to former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who has floated his own Samaikhyandhra Party, he said: “"We were disappointed.”
Referring to the bifurcation of the State, Singh said any bifurcation would be painful, but both the States had potential for development.
