The Madhya Pradesh Government today said that the state has recorded the highest agricultural growth in the country during 2011-12 at 18 per cent.
M.P. stood second among the states in economic growth (GSDP) rate at 11.98 per cent against the all-India average of 6.48 per cent, an official press release said.
Per capita income in the state increased by 19.89 per cent to Rs 38,669.
Madhya Pradesh’s economic growth rate during the 11th Five-Year Plan (2007-12) was 10.2 per cent, whereas the all-India average was 7.67 per cent, the release said.
Also, the state achieved 9.04 per cent agricultural growth rate during the 11th Five-Year Plan period against the national average of 2.48 per cent, it added.
