Forty two per cent of the respondents in Mumbai feel that the ground water availability has worsened over the last five years. The finding was released in a survey report of the Mumbai chapter by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) here on Tuesday.

The report, however, said that 39 per cent of the people perceived that there has been an improvement in the drinking water quality and availability, besides improvement in waste and waste management (46 per cent).

On the ever increasing air pollution leading to diseases such as asthma, lung cancer and other respiratory diseases, 99 per cent respondents perceived that there has been deterioration of urban air quality due to pollution.
