National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) will extend Rs 360-crore financial support to both Mission Kakatiya and drinking water project of the Telangana Government.
A decision to this effect was conveyed by Nabard officials to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here. The bank would release Rs 360 crore for Mission Kakatiya in the current year which will go up to Rs 500 crore during the next financial year.
The drinking water supply project would be funded from Nabard Infrastructure development fund as part of RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) loan.
The project should be phased out into smaller phases so that they can put up every year some funds. Starting from Rs 1,000 crore during the financial year 2015-16, NABARD has agreed to fund Rs 5,000 crore for the entire scheme.
