Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be on a two-day visit to Delhi to take up State issues with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Cabinet ministers.
During his stay in Delhi on June 26-27, he will take up issues relating to special status for Andhra Pradesh, an assurance made during the passage of the AP Reorganisation Bill, special incentives and other financial support, including liberal grant, required for the State to tide over the present financial crisis.
The State is faced with a deficit of Rs 15,000 crore.
High on the agenda and on priority list is the loan waiver scheme he has promised during the election campaign, requiring huge financial commitments.
Among several issues he is expected to take up with respective ministries, and later the Prime Minister are special Category status, special financial incentives, liberal grants, and Central Government support to the loan waiver scheme for farmers, weavers and women self help groups.
In the backdrop of opposition from RBI to the proposed scheme, he will highlight the State concerns and seek support to prioritise the scheme and its implementation.
On his busy agenda is the Polavaram project and its early implementation by resolving issues with Telengana.
