Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), an ally of BJP, today described the saffron party as “elder brother” and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the face of NDA in the coming Bihar polls.
“BJP is our elder brother. Bihar polls will be fought under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership,” LJP President and Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan told reporters.
Paswan said seat sharing among NDA partners was not a big issue and his party was not bothered about number of seats it would get.
“Seat sharing is not an issue. Whether we get two, 10, 50 or 100 seats doesn’t matter. Our only intention is that the present government in Bihar should be replaced,” Paswan said.
“Nobody can say that Ramvilas Paswan has ever asked or hankered after seats,” he said at state LJP headquarters.
“Who will fight on how many seats or on which seats is our internal issue and these will be decided during meetings held among ourselves (BJP, LJP, RLSP) when the polls come near. We all are on the same boat and our singular aim is to remove the JD(U) government in the state,” Paswan added.
To a question of accepting senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi or somebody else as BJP chief ministerial candidate in Bihar, he said “what is there to be accepted? Let polls come we all will meet and deliberate over the issue. The central leadership of BJP will decide about their candidate. Bihar elections will be fought under Narendra Modi’s name,” Paswan said.
“The way Maharashtra or Haryana got a Chief Minister after the Assembly polls there, the same way we’ll get a Chief Minister in Bihar, too. Narendra Modi will decide over the issue,” he said.
