The State Government has extended in-principle approval for a company being set up to manage urban waste.
‘Kerala Waste Management Company’ will be set up in the public sector modelled on Cochin International Airport, an official spokesman said here.
The State Government will have 26 per cent stake in the new company while the private sector will subscribe to the rest.
The company will deal with collection of waste from public offices/residences and treatment/disposal thereof, the spokesman added.
