Apex industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICCI) has inducted new Chairpersons for Telangana and AP State Councils.
The current chairperson Sangita Reddy, the Jt Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, has handed over the Chairmanship, on completion of her tenure on Sunday, to Devendra Surana, MD, Bhagyanagar India Ltd, who is designated as the Chairman, FICCI Telangana State Council, and M Prabhakar Rao, CMD, NSL Group, will be the Chairman, FICCI Andhra Pradesh State Council.
Sangita Reddy spearheaded many of the sectoral and industrial initiatives of the State council successfully for the last six years. Reddy is also Chairperson for FICCI Services Council and past chairperson, FICCI Health Care Committee, New Delhi.
Sangita Reddy said “As we have two important states and it is essential to have a dedicated focus region wise and also significant to have two Chairpersons so that we can be more effective and work closely with the proactive governments in the newest states of India.”
Surana said, “It is a great honour to be the first Chairperson for FICCI Telangana State Council and I look forward to the fullest support and cooperation from the government, industry and media friends to ensure that we work together to achieve FICCI’s vision “Industry Voice for Policy change.”
Prabhakar Rao said “There are lots of opportunities in the new State needing entrepreneurial involvement and through FICCI, I shall contribute in developing the potential in various sectors in the state of Andhra Pradesh.”
Business and industry captains are expected to attend the day-long meeting at Hotel Park Hyatt on Monday.
