Nominations for the elections to Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will be received from Friday till April 29 (except on April 24 being a Sunday). The State goes to polls on May 16. The Election Commission had appealed to political parties and candidates to take a pledge not to distribute money. The candidates can take this pledge after filing their nomination. Only three vehicles will be allowed to come within a periphery of 100 metres of the Returning Officer’s office at the time of filing nominations. A maximum of five persons (candidate plus four other individuals) only will be allowed to enter the room of the Returning Officer at the time of filing of nominations, says a press release by the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu.
