NowPurchase, a Kolkata-based e-procurement platform, has introduced a service called NowPaaS (Purchasing as a Service), which eases purchasing hassles faced by industrial entities, big or small. NowPurchase was founded by cousins Naman Shah and Aakash Shah in 2017, to help businesses, manufacturers and other entities source industrial needs easily and transparently.
Naman Shah says: “Purchasing in a manufacturing company is a time-consuming and challenging process that entails contacting hundreds of vendors, negotiating with them, placing and tracking orders. Given the lack of transparent systems, one may land up with the wrong vendor and pay more, adding to the company’s cost. NowPaaS was introduced to do away with this problem.”
Higher productivity
The service combines a procurement platform with a dedicated account manager so that procurement executives can outsource regular purchases and enhance productivity. It includes benefits such as a free purchase management software, a dedicated purchase manager, customised quotes, and flexible payment options.
NowPaaS recently opened offices in Jharkhand, Odisha and the NCR. The company plans to expand the platform to over 500 manufacturers in the next 18 months and open offices in Maharashtra and Karnataka. It aims to deepen the technology platform for its suppliers so that they can seamlessly become part of the NowPurchase ecosystem.
The company has over 1,500 suppliers on board and has fulfilled more than 10,000 orders with clients such as Century Ply, Linc Pens, Anmol Biscuits, IFB, and over 2,000 SMEs.
Growing clientele
Rahul Patwari, of Nagreeka Hydrocarbons, says: “NowPurchase has a wide range of industry goods. Its purchase management software helped me reduce work that would have had to be done manually. I needed goods delivered to a remote location, a service some others refused to provide. It was NowPurchase that had the goods delivered to my location.”
NowPaaS is useful in handling enquiries, quotations, delivery and payments, along with managing indents and negotiating long-term contracts. The system enables streamlined workflow management, and keeps the purchaser updated through emails and text messages. Over 100 manufacturers/procurers have signed up for the service, according to the company.
