Andhra Pradesh Government today allotted a 208-acre site in Anantapur district to Nredcap and Enercon for setting up of a 45 mw wind power project. The allotment has been made on a lease basis for 25 years.
The State Cabinet, which met here today, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, made this allotment to facilitate the setting up of a wind farm. This is part of the State’s policy to encourage renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power.
Briefing newspersons here after the Cabinet meeting, the State Information Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy said several other land allocations were approved. One of them is a 72-acre site for setting up of a radar Station by Indian Air Force in Nellore district. The land was allotted at Rs 6 lakh per acre.
The Indian Coast Guard based in Vizag was allotted 5 acres in Nellore district for the construction of a communication centre.
Other major allocations include three sites of 11-acres, 26 acres and 95 acres, all of them in Nellore district to South Central Railway for development of a broad gauge line near Krishnapatnam Port.
