The Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday flagged off a bus loaded with industrialists, IT professionals and NRIs, who have come together voluntarily and expressed their intent to support the party in campaigning and forming the new Government.
A group of NRIs, IT professionals, some entrepreneurs and including J.A.Chowdary, a former IAS officer, who had served as Director of Software Technology Parks India, expressed their intent to campaign for TDP to ensure its success in the forthcoming elections.
They said that it was necessary to have a strong Government and leader who can develop the region and the State in the backdrop of recent developments of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into two States.
Before flagging of the industry representatives, Naidu said that the alliance with the BJP is aimed at providing a strong governance at the Centre and in the State. This was a necessity to root out the Congress regime, which was responsible for most of the problems the country is facing today.
Speaking on why they had come together, Chowdary, who played a pivotal role in attracting a number of companies to Hyderabad during his tenure as STPI Director, said that a strong Government and leadership was necessary to improve the finances and attract new investments. He said that the contacts of this closely knit bunch could be used to attract new investments and companies into the State.
The new State is starting with negative resources, and a leader with a track record would be ideal to steer it out of the current situation and also attract investments, he said.
