Several consumer connect initiatives of Mahanagar Natural Gas Ltd, BPCL, HPCL and Indian Oil were launched by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday.
The Minister was in Pune and launched MNGL's 'Clean-Green-Smart Pune' initiative which will be a year-long activity where one tree will be planted for each customer, a marathon for the green cause will be held as well as programmes on safety will be held.
Pradhan also inaugurated MNGL's piped gas supply to Nanded city and handed over insurance policies to 10 auto rickshaw drivers under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. The insurance policies were sponsored by MNGL.
The Minister also handed over Deposit Free LPG connections to below poverty line families provided by BPCL, HPCL and IndianOil.
Further, an online booking facility was launched for LPG cylinders with an online payment facility. Customers will now be able to pay online but can also choose to pay at the time of delivery.
The Minister also launched a kiosk which would be put in prominent places in Pune and customers in the city can use them for their LPG transactions.
