While buying products online has caught on in a big way, online shopping store Amazon.in has confirmed that the purchase of large appliances has registered close to three times growth year-on-year, with Coimbatore emerging as one of the fastest growing markets in Tamil Nadu.
“Tamil Nadu is a critical market for us. It is, in fact, the fourth largest market for Amazon.in in the country in terms of purchase of large appliances. We have five fulfilment centres in the state. The centre in Coimbatore is dedicated for large appliances,” said Suchit Subhas, Category Leader – Appliances, Amazon India.
Some of the top brands purchased include Voltas, Haier, LG, Whirlpool, Samsung and BPL. Subhas further said the demand for air-conditioners and refrigerators has grown more than three-and-half times this season as compared to the same period last year
