Over 6 kg gold biscuits seized at Kozhikode airport

In two separate instances of gold smuggling, customs authorities seized 6.4 kg of gold at the Kozhikode international airport on Thursday from passengers arriving from the Gulf.

Both the passengers, arriving from Abu Dhabi and Muscat, hail from north Kerala. They had concealed the smuggled gold in the form of biscuits inside the battery chambers of emergency lamps.

The market value of the gold is around Rs. 1.75 crore.
