Jana Sena leader and film star Pawan Kalyan today called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the latter’s camp office in Vijayawada and discussed various issues relating to the State and the upcoming capital city of Amaravati.
After a meeting that lasted for nearly three hours, the Jana Sena leader interacted with the media and outlined some of the issues that he discussed with the Chief Minister.
Referring to the promises made by the Centre for Andhra Pradesh, he felt that it was important the BJP-led NDA Government keep up the promises made during the division of the State. Unless it honours these commitments, it would have tough time ahead, he cautioned.
He also made it clear that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Amaravati for the foundation stone ceremony, had assured that all the promises made during the division would be honoured.
The meeting assumes importance in the backdrop of the State Government’s moves to construct the new capital city of Amaravati by pooling about 33,000 acres of land from the farmers in the Guntur district.
The actor has expressed his concerns about the land pooling and farmers’ issues in the past and was keen the Government to make them part of the development.
He thanked the Chief Minister for agreeing to his request not to go in for land acquisition in cases where farmers have not surrendered their land.
Pawan Kalyan, who could not attend in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the capital on October 22, congratulated Naidu on this major feat where the Prime Minister was present.
The actor and the Chief Minister interacted after several months. Pawan Kalyan had played a key role during the general elections last year campaigning for TDP-BJP combine.
