BJP national president Amit Shah today said that the enthusiasm of people of Karnataka to joint Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is overwhelming.

Addressing reporters on his maiden visit to Bengaluru after the party came to power at the Centre, Shah said almost 20,000 people are becoming members of BJP each day. BJP will achieve its target of one crore members in the state by March 2015. Karnataka’s population is 6.2 crore.

Shah said that the Congress Government in Karnataka is a non-performing, corrupt, and defunt government proving to be an abysmal failure in matters of governance, law and order.

The Government has failed to inclusively represent the cause of 6.2 crore people and has instead indulged in sectarian populism. The mandate of the people is being squandered by the Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government.
