KV Kurmanath Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reiterated that the country needs a “qualitative change” in politics as both the Congress and the BJP had failed the people in the last 70 years.
He flayed the Narendra Modi government for curtailing the development of States, wresting departments such as Agriculture and Healthcare. “The Union Government controls the broad fiscal policy. We (States) have to be like that. We have only a little independence,” he said.
“The country has about 70,000 tmc of water but has left 30,000 tmc untapped. People are in distress. Farmers are committing suicides. The two national parties have failed in creating jobs and tapping water resources,” KCR said.
Addressing the Assembly on Tuesday, he said countries such as China, Japan, Singapore and Korea had left India far behind. “You need to have out-of-the-box solutions,” he said.
Naming his proposed third front as ‘People’s Front of India’, KCR said the country desperately needed an alternative and PFI would provide it.
Replying to observations made by the Opposition on the Appropriation Bill, he said the State Government has turned around the region’s economy after assuming power only four years ago.
