The Planning Commission has approved a Rs 53,000- crore annual plan for Andhra Pradesh for 2013-14.
The State proposals received the Commission's nod during a meeting on Wednesday at New Delhi between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission.
During a detailed meeting, the Chief Minister requested the Commission to clear the two large irrigation projects Polavaram and Pranahitha-Chevella.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by State Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and senior officials, said that the State expects to achieve a growth rate of about 10 per cent during XII Plan period.
