Since the past four-five days, the Prime Minister has tried to speak to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, told presspersons here on Wednesday.
“We left a message for her (with Mukul Roy) that she can speak. We have not heard back,” Chidambaram said after a meeting of the UPA Congress Core Committee to discuss the Trinamool’s decision to withdraw support, among other issues.
He said the Government would talk to the Trinamool Ministers, who are expected in the Capital on Friday.
The meeting decided that efforts would still be made to explain to the Trinamool the background behind its decisions, sources said.
