Power-steering Nano at Rs 2.36 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the latest variant of the world's cheapest car Nano, now equipped with a power steering. The Nano Twist is priced at Rs 2.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is priced about Rs 14,000 higher than the present top-end Nano version.

The new model is available in XT version, which replaces the previous top line Nano (LX) model. “It would contribute more than 50 per cent of our total Nano sales," said Ankush Arora, Senior Vice-President and Head Commercial - Passenger Vehicle Business Unit.

The vehicle has an Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system that helps in easy manoeuvring in tight driving and parking situations.

The car is powered by a 624cc 2 gasoline engine, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The engine produces 38PS power, 51 Nm torque. The new Nano range would provide a fuel efficiency of 25.4 kmpl (certified by the Automotive Research Association of India).

The vehicle also has a trip computer and a new driver information systems.
