The Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers Association (IPAMA) is expanding its presence to overseas markets to take brand India globally.
It has joined hands with Expo Centre, Sharjah, for co-hosting ‘Print Pack Arabia 2014’, a printing industry show from April 7 to 10 next year in Sharjah. It provides an opportunity for Indian entrepreneurs to exchange technologies and to get worldwide exposure to latest printing and packing innovations.
This is the first time that IPAMA is going for an overseas business tie-up to provide opportunities for its members. This will help explore possibilities of joint ventures and business collaborations in the UAE, C.P.Paul, general secretary, IPAMA, said.
The printing and publishing industry in the UAE region is expected to grow to $7 billion by 2015 and the UAE has emerged as the centre of paper and printing industry in the Arab world. This will be a new window for Indian manufacturers to explore their business in Gulf countries, especially in Sharjah, K.S. Khurana, president, IPAMA, said.
The packaging industry in Sharjah region is also on an upswing, with the sector in the UAE itself expected to be worth $ 2.3 billion by 2016 due to increased consumption and demand for consumer goods, driving the need for more sophisticated packaging, he said.
