Pune team to visit Uttarakhand

An expert team from the Central Water and Power Research Station, Pune will visit Haridwar in Uttarakhand to suggest steps to control flood and check soil erosion along river banks, according to Harish Rawat, Minister of Union Water Resources. After estimating the flow and water discharge of Ganga at Haridwar, the team will evolve a simulation model, which will act as a guideline for flood control and for the future constructions in the river areas, a Water Resources Ministry release said.
