Hours before campaigning ended for the eighth phase of elections to the Lok Sabha, the BJP on Monday released a film titled PitiableState of Infrastructure in Amethi , targeting Rahul Gandhi, who has been an MP from the constituency for the past 10 years.

“For the past 30-35 years, this important constituency has been ruled by the Nehru-Gandhi family, but it lies in a shambles,” said senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha at a press conference here.

He said Rahul’s concern over Amethi is clear from his “lack of performance” as an MP. “He has raised zero questions about Amethi in these 10 years. His attendance in the last five years has been 43 per cent only, against 70 per cent attendance of all MPs.

Also, he participated in only two debates in these 10 years,’ said Sinha.

He also lambasted the poor development in Amethi, saying 60 per cent has no power, 80 per cent families have no toilets and only 2,200 out of 70,000 poor households got MGNREGA jobs.
